I spent a long time looking before I chose to replace my current boat with an Orkney 440. It is no exaggeration to say that I am delighted with my choice. The build quality, performance and sea-keeping ability are all that I could have hoped for and the launching and recovery much easier than i expected.Mr Stride
Previously I have owned 4 other boats, the last being an Orkney Vanguard 190 with folding dodger, which was a superbly built boat and handled very well. However, I wanted to fish further offshore so I had no hesitation in choosing the Pilothouse 20.
I have been the proud owner of the new Orkney Pilothouse mkIII for almost a year now and would like to express my sincere gratitude to you and your team for designing and building the perfect fishing boat.
Over the last year I have taken her out on at least 20 occasions and found her to be very stable in all sea states. On one occasion, we got caught out by a freak squall and had to return to port in a force 7, the waves were huge. The Pilothouse 20 had no problem handling the conditions and my 2 friends and I felt completely secure. I would not hesitate to recommend this boat to anyone considering a family fishing boat.
Keep up the good work and thanks again.Vince Caldicott, West Sussex
Please convey my sincerest thanks to all those that took part in the building of my Orkney Pilot House 20.
I expected Orkney to build me a good boat, but the Pilot 20 has turned out to be better than expected; a lovely boat.
This is the second boat that I have bought from yourselves and in the future should I buy another one, I would buy another Orkney. Your attention to detail is fantastic, keep it up Orkney.
Best of luck for the future.Albert & Zamiel Cano, Gibraltar
We are extremely grateful for all of your help during the purchase process of our six brand new Orkney 440’s, from the moment I made the first enquiry, through to the delivery of the final boats, you and your team have provided the personal service and high level of professionalism that is so sadly missing from many companies in today’s market place.
The quality of the build and finish is faultless, the design makes them not only very practical and safe, but also very pleasing to the eye, factors which are most important when hiring boats on a beach location to individuals and families alike.Mike Hext, Operations Manager, Ladram Bay holiday Park
I took delivery of a new LONGLINER 2 in February 2015 and this vessel has far exceeded my expectations, in fact it has replaced my two boats, namely a Warrior 165 and a 16 ft Arran, neither of which were ideal for my fishing style. I troll the large Scottish lochs for ferox trout and the Lake District waters for pike during the trout fishing close season.
The Longliner 2 is built with keels that ensure that the boat holds a straight course even when travelling slowly into a strong head wind, although this in my case may be helped by having the front window held open by a strut, and 150 kgs of on- board ballast to lower the vessel in the water.
When I am not trolling slowly, I am able to use the engine power to transport me quickly to safety or to another distant area of the loch due to the planing hull of the new Longliner 2. Finally, the LONGLINER 2 is extremely economical. I am able to troll about 12 hours and only use about 8 litres of fuel. Well Done Orkney you have made a superb fishing boat.David Greenwood, Lancashire
The quality of the boats produced by this company are second to none! I am so impressed with what I received! We have upgraded our boats over the years, starting from the Orkney Longliner 16, then on to the Strikeliner 16, then the Orkney 522 and now have a Pilot house 20.
The boats seem to last forever! Our close friends brought the Longliner 16 off of us which was built in 1974 and they still use it on a regular basis! Orkney Boats still sell all of the spare parts for the boats so you can give it some TLC when needs be.
I could not recommend a better company to purchase a boat from. As cheesy as it sounds, it is not just a company it is a family! Once again, Thank you! Happy Orkney owners!Lizzie Hood
